paper romance challenge

Paper Romance have a black and white and one other colour challenge. I have chosen purple, black and white. Again I have used a new decoupage kit I bought from the craft shop which I like. Unfortunately when I have photographed my cards with my phone they were too blurry so I scanned them and it's harder to see the 3D. I think my husband really likes these cards it's the most he has ever commented on my cards even browsing the net for me to get more kits. Hope you like it. x Amanda

A trio of football players for Papertake Weekly's Trio Tastic Challenge. I found a new craft store today and when I walked in I thought it didn't have anything I wanted. I then looked closely at the cards made by the owner and she told me about the decoupage sets she makes them with. I ended up buying one of every different one she had in the shop. Today I have made a sympathy card following the sketch at card patterns. THese are not my favourite cards to make so I try to make one every now and then. It's easier to make one when you don't need it straight away because it's very hard to do when you have just lost someone special. I love dragonflies and forgot I had a little of this paper left. Shiny!!

Ok so this was a little hard to get a good picture of because of the shiny background reflecting with the scanner light. The challenge at Cute Card Thursday is Happy Shiny Cards and at Paper Play it is shine. I have entered this card in both challenges because it is very shiny. I found this metalic under the sea bubble cardboard at the craft shop which is perfect for my magnolia mermaid who also has shiny hair. The green bubbles are also shiny. Over all this is one very shiny card. Sorry I was just laughing to myself while I was typing this post, Iwas listening to the radio a while back and the hosts rang shed world to see how many times they could get him to say shed in their conversation, kind of over using the word shiny in this post, lol. x Amanda

This is Lys's first fish she ever caught and she was so excited but scared at the same time. We let this one swim in a bucket for a while then set him free.

I have followed Card Patterns sketch to create another scrapbook page, this one is of my two crazies. I love these photos. We go on holidays at least twice a year to 1770/ Agnes Waters Queensland, it is a very quiet coastal town with nothing to do but relax, go to beach, fish or go boating. There is no take away chains or big shopping centres or even a set of traffic lights but we love it, It is our perfect family getaway. My mum and brother also live here so we spend alot of time catching up over a few drinks. They have huge sand dunes along the beaches and my crazies love climbing to the top and jumping or sliding down. These photos don't really justify how high they are, it is awesome fun. Well I have my next photo and idea ready to go, so bye for now. x Amanda

Friday Sketchers and M4M crazy hair

What a very busy card making weekend. Yesterday I helped my friend put together her wedding invites they were already pre-cut and printed but it still took five hours for six people to finish. We were going to do the bombonaires aswell but that will have to be another day. I pre-cut those from stampin ups candy wrapper on Friday night and that took over two hours alone. I got up early this morning and made my father in laws 70th birthday invitations and now it is time for some creative fun. I felt like doing some scrapbooking of some of my fave pics of my daughters, I had the biggest scare yesterday when at my friends house. I told my girls they could go outside but stay on the Alishas block meaning her yard, when I went to check they were ok I couldn't see them so I realised they probably meant around the block so I went to look and they were nowhere. I jumped in my car and went searching but couldn't find them, I was frantic driving everywhere and asking anybody I saw, as were the others and then there they were walking back smiling and waving at me not having a clue they were missing or why I was a total emotional wreck, I swear it took another hour before I could stop shaking.

Anyway this is one of my favourite photos of my littlest crazy pretending she is eating fishbait. I have followed the Friday Sketchers Sketch to do this page as I have not done much scrapbooking before. I also thought I'd join in Mad 4 Markers crazy hair challenge with my little Magnolia mermaid. I have used BG09, Bg23, Bg34 and BG49 to colour her in. Thanks for checking my creation. x Amanda

Well this should be my last post of the day and it sums it up well as I'm sitting here with a glass of wine in my hand. I have had a wonderful weekend lots of family time, lots of pool time, great morning at nippers and quite alot of craft time. Now to finish this great weekend a couple of glasses of wine while hubby cooks our roast dinner on the bbq yummy. I am trying to create some male cards as they seem more difficult to make than female. I have started using a few Kenny K images for these only for my daughters to ask why they are not wearing any clothes. Over at Just Magnolia they have My Favourite Things. I love this mermaid, I have borrowed from my friend Lucinda. This mermaid and the beach Magnolias are my favourites. I have also used my favourite card taken by teal, I love this colour and this is my very last sheet :(. Stampin Up no longer have it in the catalogue so I'll have to go on ebay or an American site to see if I can get anymore.I've also used crystal effects which is beginning to be one of my favourite things and it makes her look amd feel like a real mermaid. mad for markers Australia Day challenge

Good morning, I have made this card for the Mad for Markers Challenge . THe challenge is Australia Day so it can be red/blue /white or green and gold. I had a craft day with friends WEdnesday and I stamped this Magnolia of Tilda with apples while I was there, she is quite cute. I used my copics to colour her in. I would really like some advice on colours to use for skin as I start with raw silk,then add milky white and eggshell but sometimes the raw silk looks too dark. Any help would be appreciated. I really enjoyed this challenge at Digital Tuesday Challenge I think it was really different and the cards they have done are fantastic. It is quite a challenge when you can not add designer papers or colours. I made a engagement/wedding card, not very original I know with a white theme but I am still amazed at the talent and the creations people can think up out there. Anyway you can't really see it in the photo or scan but I have added a little glitter to the champagne and then coated the glasses in crystal effects,which totally impressed my daughter who thinks I am ammazing for being able to do that. I am really happy with this card and would of never thought of using only white. Have a try. x Amanda

Ok so this scan is a little bit blury sorry but technology and I are just not getting along at the moment, I can not get my camera to download and my phone camera just doesn't want to connect to the computer either. scraps and my old really rust cardboard which probably wouls sit in the box for another year if it wasn't for this challenge. I used a sizzix die for the spaxeman and ship, although I haven't used it before I bought it quite a while ago off ebay, a habit I seem to get into after a couple of quiet wines. I actually thought they were robots when I started making this card and realised after I cut the rocket they were spacemen, so I tried to make a moon looking thing. Make a thank you card is the challenge at Cute Card Thursday and this is the one I have made. My friend Lucinda and I found a local craft shop that we can buy Magnolia stamps from so we don't have to wait for postage, this has re-aquainted (re- obsessed) us with Magnolia stamps again. I coloured her with copics, which is also a new obsession for me, how good are copics, I just want to colour in all the time. I had back to back kids swimming at the local pool yesterday so I took my copics and images to colour while I was waiting, I wonder what people were thinking to see a grown up sitting there colouring in. Well only four more sleeps until Santa comes and my house is getting very loud,excited and busy. My mum has arrived to stay for a week and a bit and the beautiful sunshine is back so it's getting hard to sit and craft, but I told myself I need to make at least one card a day and hopefully post daily so luckily everyone except me had a rest after a very busy night and morning. This is my card for ICS . Another Kenny K digi, I am having alot of fun with these. I have done this card in green tones, my eldest daughters favourite colour but have coloured another two in red and in black. I was going to try to make a circle of card look like a cd but then thought I'd have fun and stick a real cd on. It is silver but when I scanned it came out rainbow which is pretty cool I think. Over at Papertake Weekly you need to make a birthday card for somebody with a birthday around Christmas. My husband's birthday is three days after and we usually don't do much at all for him. I wouldn't like to have my birthday so close to Christmas that's for sure. I made this card for him but will probably make a few more before his birthday and then decide. I am new to copic markers and am loving colouring in with them, they are quite addictive so any excuse to make new cards will do. THanks for looking, Amanda xx

It's a Sparkly Christmas at Digital Tuesday Challenge and I needed to create a small card/gift card for my husbands secret santa present. The person he has to give to is a 30 year old female so I decided this reindeer games digi would be good. I added a little sparkle to her nose and champagne and a couple of red sparkly brads. I only purchased this cute little guy Francis this morning from Digistamp Boutique, isn't he cute. My daughter loves penguins and her favourite colour is green so I thought I'd practise with greens on these cards before I make something special for her. I have followed Mojo Mondays sketch on this first card.

And I have used the same digi and colour combo on this second card for Card Patterns sketch. I love Stampin up's green galore and taken by teal but both have been taken out of the new catalogue, such a shame. I am making cards this morning to keep myself calm as I'm off to see Bon Jovi in Brisbane tonight and am getting very excited. x Amanda

Baby it's cold outside

At Digital Tuesday Challenge it is Baby it's cold outside, which is great because I decided to make Christmas bon bons this year and these two friendly snow men are for my nephews. I have found an easy way to make bons bons now and I am very excited as I can personalise everybodys. For the children I am putting flashing Christmas badges and Magical Elves chocolates and for the grown ups lindt balls, christmas ear rings and christmas wine glass rings. Hope you like them I have different ones to post tomorrow.

Colour Create Challenge

I have made this card with the colour scheme over at Colour Create, beautiful robin egg blue, foamy sea green and cream. I have used all stampin up products except for the clourung in I used copics. I have also made some smaller versions of these cards and I am hoping to sell them in a pack of 3 for $5 in the staffroom. My friend and work colleague is spending some of the Christmas holidays at an orphanage in EAst Timor so I will give her the money from any card packs sold, fingers crossed.

Well I am loving my holidays, making sure I get some craft time in everyday. I have made a boy birthday card today because I found some new papers at spotlight. I have been dissapointed lately with the lack of variety in papers at the local craft shops so I was pleased to find alot of new ones last visit. I have followed the sketch at Mojo MOnday, I might try making the round version of it tonight for my nephews first birthday card. Wow, I really like these colours together, Mellow Moss, Choc Chip and Blush Blossom. This is the colour challenge at Color Throwdown and I think they look quite pretty together. I also followed the sketch at Sketch Saturday . I only just got these stamps, Upsy Daisy from Stampin Up so you'll probably see my next few cards with the same stamp. All of the card and ribbons are from Stampin Up aswell, my stampin up friend Lucinda will be so happy.

Today Iam going out to lunch with some good friends to celebrate one of their birthdays,I love holidays.

Truly SCrumptious Sketch

Hooray school holidays and we are staying home, time to catch up on some crafting. I love this sketch at Truly Scrumptious, the extra option was strawberries and cream which I didn't do because I needed to do a congratulations card first. I found these love heart papers in silver and gold so I made one of each. I really like this sketch it isn't too complicated and I am planning to make a few different cards today following this sketch. Well I think I can say I am back into a routine where there is time for a bit of crafting a few evenings a week, I needed to have a big clean up of my craft area so it didn't look like such a challenge each time I started to make something. I have entered this card in the card patterns sketch, a friend at work is due very soon and not sure if she is having a girl or boy so I have made a girl one very similar. Well I started following the fab sketch at Sketch Saturday first for this card and when blog hopping I found it could be entered in a few different challenges including Stamp something who have a recipe of designer paper, buttons and ribbons, and also Cute Card Thursday have a Ribbontastic challenge happening over there. It was a fun card to make, my first Easter card as I just purchased these stamps from Stampin Up, I am new to the roller stamps and I think I am going to be a bit addicted for a while. Well I'm just about to drop my daughter off at a sleepover for her friends 10th birthday, they are staying at a resort in Surfers Paradise which has waterslides and kids fun centre. Wow I wonder if they realise how lucky they are or because on the Gold Coast they are surrounded by theme parks with annual passes, a zillion shopping malls with every shop imaginable, beautiful beaches and parks and anything else you could think of, do they just think everywhere is the same. I have made this card for her friend and have followed the sketch at crafts 4 eternity I liked this sketch a lot the only problem is I ran out of staples so I couldn't add this to the recipe. THis was a fun card to make I like pink and black together.

Colour Create

I went to a craft get together yesterday for the first time this year it was very nice but one of our beautiful craft friends have moved interstate and it is not quite the same without her. Love you Alicia xx. The girls there were making Valentines cards for their husbands which I don't usually do but I joined in aswell. I also made a card eah for my daughters which are the ones pictured. I have used brown, pink and off white to enter in Colour Creates challenge The one on the right has got a little extra colour as my daughter didn't put it down all morning it has extra chocolate muffin on it. That's why I should scan before I give it away, a habit I got into over Christmas, I would create for a challenge but give the card away without posting it oh well. In the name of love

Ok, I don't know how this post is going to end up looking as I have photos all over the place. I scan my creations which doesn't give the best quality pics either because the book is so thick. Anyway enough about that. I have created these love books for the two loves of my life, my daughters. When I was creating things at Christmas everything I made they wanted one of so I wanted to make them a little something special. I was going to make them for them for Christmas but it got too busy and I put them aside and although I don't usually do Valentines Day it gave me the encouragement to get them finished for my girls. I am very happy I did as their response was just beautiful, I am very blessed to have two fabulous girls.

As I have not posted anything for so long, I thought I would enter in Cute Card Thursdays In the name of love challenge. Hope you had a romantic day.

Colour CReate Challenge

Just when I thought I had all the Chrissy cards sorted and posted my husband comes home and asks me to make three more for his reps, nothing like last minute. Any way they are all ladies so I have followed this beautiful colour combo at Colour Create of burgundy, pink and ivory. THis has been my favourite Christmas stamp set this year, A wish for Peace from stampin up. I have used it alot but have not posted anything on blog. I love them in this colour combo and will probably make some more so I can remember for next Christmas lol.

Hooray for holidays!!! Christmas holidays started yesterday and now I have time to do all the crafting and blogging that I wish to. I have been very slack on the blogging side of things but I have been doing alot of off the page crafts and making packs of handmade Christmas cards as presents for my work friends, I just haven't had time to blog them all and now I've given them I can not post them anyway. I have started to make my cards for posting now and last night followed the sketch and recipe from Crafts4Eternity which was a santa image, couple of brads and sketch. I think this is a cute Santa from stampin up, holly jolly christmas stamps which Deanne lent me. This was a fun challenge, I hope you enjoy playing along.

For the Papertake Weekly Christmas Cracker Challenge I have made this Christmas train. I was going to make a centrepiece train for our Christmas table at home and then I became stuck for an idea of what to buy for our Secret Santa at work so I decided to make one for them aswell. I enjoyed making this and was able to almost complete my own one at the same time. I hope this person likes their gift, it always makes me nervous giving something I have made.

I have a new favourite colour Taken by Teal and that was included in Color Throwdowns Challenge of Certainly Celery, Taken by Teal and Purely Pomgrante. I think these colours look good together. With the help of the sketch challenge from A Spoon Full of Sugar I created a card for my daughter who is having a birthday tomorrow. I have used a Penelope digi because it reminds me of her. We had a fantastic day celebrating her birthday at movieworld yesterday with a group of her friends and tomorrow we will celebrate with just our family.

I didn't have a magnolia halloween stamp so I placed Tilda sitting on a cauldron full of a hot green ghouly potion(if you look closely you would probably think it was glitter). Well it feels like ages since I made a card, it is school holidays here and we are just finishing week one of two. I have been enjoying this week with my girls and husband and trying to get all the errands and appointments out the way so they don't roll over into next week. We dropped hubby off at airport today so he could go to the AFL grand final in Melbourne and then went and did clothes and craft shopping so now I'm all set for a weekend of card making. I would like to try a bit of scrapbooking aswell so if it turns out I will post some. Sweeties and Color Throwdown

Hello, Wow what a fantastic day it was today, beautiful sunshine, perfect beach weather although the water was a bit rough. I love spring and love summer even more. WEll enough about the weather, I had a wonderful day the morning was spent at the beach and I had time to bake yummy stuff and craft this afternoon. I have made this farewell card for a beautiful lady I work with, Ingrid. She is moving interstate and will be missed very much. I have followed Sweeties sketch and have followed Color Throwdowns Challenge, ruby red, pumpkin pie and close to cocoa. OK so as I just typed this I realise I should so write the challenges down instead of trying to remember as I have used choc chip instead of close to cocoa, ooops. Magnolia Down Under with Creative CArd CRew Sketch

I was feeling confident colouring a Magnolia this week so I decided to enter Magnolia Down Under Chalenge. Now I don't know if I should confess this in fear of being laughed at by the blogging world but a while ago when I saw a recipe for a challenge I thought you had to make a recipe card for a food item.(you can stop laughing now) Now I am up with the cardmaking lingo(not all I'm still trying to work out so much) I know what a recipe is. Kellies' is 1 flower, 2 ribbons, 3 brads, 4 papers/pattern papers. I followed this sketch from Creative Card Crew challenge this week, they have some gorgeous DT cards to look at. Colour Throwdown and ICsketches

Colour Throwdown has a gorgeous combination of bashful blue,positively pink and certainly celery, these colours are beautiful together. I teamed this challenge with a sketch from IC sketches and created this card for a teacher at school Jenny for her birthday today. I have noticed my image has a quarter cut off so hopefully I can go back and fix this because I have already given the card, oh well, if not the other square has a pink flower on the bottom corner aswell. Colour Create and Papertake Weekly

Happy Friday! Today is a day off on the Gold Coast so it is a happier Friday than usual. I started the morning doing all the jobs I usually have to tomorrow so now I'll have a cleaning free Saturday Hooray! My girls have both got friends over today so I have had time to do some crafting. I have combined Colour Creates Ruby, Cream and Gold challenge, although my cream satin ribbon and the gold glitter have not scanned so well because of the reflection of the light, and Papertake Weeklys Sketch. I have made this card for a wonderful lady, Clare. She is the peadiatric physiotherapist at the Gold Coast Hospital and she has been helping my daughter for the last four years. She does wonderful work and it was about time I thanked her for it. I don't really use this stamp because the colouring puts me off but I am happy with the way this one turned out, I think I may have spoilt the card though by adding the glitter. THis is the sketch over at a spoon full of sugar this week, it is a really good sketch you should go over and have a look. I like the way the sketch has the four different layers in the background although looking at my card now I should of highlighted this more. I have made a Christmas card using stampin up snowmen and etired stampin up papers.

I had gone a bit quiet and not gone blogging for a while but when I finally did get back on track I was delighted to get this blog award from Kazabing. Thank you so much. I am supposed to list five things I like and send this to five more blogs that I like to see.

I love my two daughters and my hubby, they are so much fun.

I love my friends and am very blessed to have such kind, caring people around me.

Please don't tell anyone, but I love my job. I love working with children, they make me laugh so much, they are beautiful.

I love walking, sitting, laying or swimming at the beach, there is no better therapy.

OOps nearly forgot to post my challenge for Inspirational Card Sketch, I scanned it in a couple of nights ago and forgot all about it. THis sketch was exactly what I needed for a baby boy card, a friend at work has just had her first baby, a little boy named James. I can't wait to meet him. His mum Lee started getting into stamping while she was pregnant and I know she has all the baby/kiddy stamps from stampin Up that I do so I tried to use something different. I found this animal paper at the craft shop and it was hard to work out where to cut because all the animals were cute on it. I will have to make some more cards to show them all. Hope you enjoy your evening I have done all my chores except for walking my dog so after that I hope to relax and make another card or page.

Kellies Sketch Challenge #2

Woohoo! I have finally got circles, yes a whole set of circle spellbinders no more having to cover up my dodgy circle cutting. I am very excited about this but even more excited that Kellie had a big circle on her sketch and it was simpple enough for me to follow, Thanks Kellie!

I have not been doing much card making lately I lost a bit of the getting creative feeling but now I can feel it coming back and I am happy about that too. Such alot to be happy about, it must be the fantastic sunshine we are having on the Gold Coast this weekend. I can not believe it is still Winter, I was actually in swimmers today but I did chicken out of going in the water, I only got my feet wet. I have made my card with a digi stamp from sketching stamper, I received a beautiful bunch of daffodils on Friday from Alicia and they made my day so it inspired me to use this digi.

Daffodils are a beautiful flower, so bright and cheery, they are also the flower of hope. A bunch would look fabulous on your dining table this week so don't forget to treat yourself to a bunch and support the Cancer Foundations Daffodil Day this Friday 28th August.

Delicious Diva Challenge 2

This is my card for Delicious Divas , they have a colour challenge over there of barely banana, cameo coral, pumpkin pie and old olive, which I think look great together but would of never thought that until this challenge. My card is a simple design but once I put the colours together I didn't want to cover them with anything because I liked the way they looked. I enjoyed this challenge and look forward to the next.

sweeties sketches page

I have tried something new today, a scrapbook page instead of a card. This is a first for me I am never quite sure how to lay out a page so I give up before I begin. After finding a few blogs that give you page sketches I have tried the August sketch challenge at Sweeties Sketches . My biggest problem was trying to post the image because I scan in my creations and this page wouldn't fit so I had to do two scans, I hope you can work out the page from this.

This is my Dad, the photo on the left is my favourite picture of him, it shows his great smile and sense of humour, he is so funny. The one on the right is another of my favourites even if I did chop a bit of his head off. THis was taken at his 50th birthday(almost 13 years ago)I organised a suprise party for him, he had no idea, it was heaps of fun. I might post a couple more photos of it at the bottom so you can see how much of a dag he is.

Ok now about the cardstock it is all stampin up papers and not quite navy and old olive card. The always on my mind forever in my heart stamp is also from stampin up. Hope you like my page, and the photos of my dad.

Sketch Saturday

Hello,

Happy to say my determination won and I did not get sick, Hooray! Although I have to tell you I feel shattered today . Last night I had the biggest cry ever, I went to the movies to see My Sister's Keeper and I cried from the minute it started till the minute it finished. It was so so sad.

A couple of hours crying really takes it out of you.

This is Sandra's sketch at Sketch Saturday it was a bit challenging for me but this is what I came up with. I looked at this card and thought "What is wrong here" at first I thought too many cocktails but then I realised the problem was it is 8.30 on a Saturday night and the cocktail glasses are still full. Thank God It's Friday!!!.

What a slow week this has been, I've been trying to stop myself getting sick this week. I've been getting all sorts of niggling syptoms of a cold but I am determined not to get sick. I love working with little children but it is hard to stay well during the colder months when they are all getting colds. Any way enough about that. I have entered Colour Create's challenge this week PInk, Orange and Green, some great colours to brighten anyboby's day. I have used a funky fairy digi image and I think they are adorable. I have used SU bold bright card stock and papers. This was a fun card to make and I love the colour combo they have given us. Hope you enjoy it too.
